Boatjump Damage deposit coverage

Are you worried about all or part of the boat damage deposit when you rent a boat?

Boatjump offers you a damage deposit service, so you can sail with no worries.

What’s include in the “Boatjump Damage Deposit Service”?

Any boat damage deduction taken by the boat owner (Service provider) for an incident, break, crash, hit or accident during your sailing except for the exclusions described below.

How does it work?

The “Boatjump Damage Deposit Service” must be booked during your reservation process. You will pay the full boat damage deposit amount indicated on your booking confirmation when you arrive at the boat base. In the case that an incident with the boat would occur, and the boat owner would retain part or all of the boat damage deposit, Boatjump will reimburse it back to you. The process to request reimbursement is the following:

Write an email to customer@boatjump.com within no later than 10 calendar days after the check-out date. In the email, you must describe the issue as detailed as possible. Our Customer Support team will review your ticket, and request you the corresponding documentation. The Customer Support team will confirm the amount to be reimbursed to you within 15 working days from the ticket’s date. If the review of your ticket shows that there is an amount to be refunded, Customer Support will request you to sign a settlement agreement and send your bank account holder certificate. You have 15 calendar days to send these 2 documents, otherwise your ticket will be closed as if you formally refuse the refund. Once both documents are received, the payment will be made within 5 working days

How much does it cost?

The price for the “Boatjump Damage Deposit Service” is 12% of the boat damage deposit amount. Which means, if the boat damage deposit is 2.500€, the price for the coverage will be 300€. Taxes included.

Does it have a deductible?

The “Boatjump Damage Deposit Service” has a deductible of 10% of the boat damage deposit. The deductible is the maximum amount that the client will support in case of retention of the damage Deposit. Which mean that if you book the “Boatjump Damage Deposit Service” on a boat damage deposit of 2.500€ and:

  • Example 1. The owner retains 2.000€, then Boatjump will reimburse you 1.750€.
  • Example 2. The owner retains 200€, then 0 € will be reimbursed to you, as the retained amount is lower than the deductible amount.

Is the “Boatjump Damage deposit Service” a damage waiver?

No, when you arrive at the boat base you will need to pay the full damage deposit as displayed in your booking confirmation.
